In an historic ruling, the Ontario Court of Appeal announced that it is against the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms to prevent same sex couples from marrying. Effective immediately same-sex couples are legally allowed to marry in Ontario.

Good for them. If two people love each other enough, they should be allowed to legally commit via marriage. Why should they be refused the right to lose half their stuff if things go south that everyone else has! Seriously, I never understood why so many people have been against homosexual marriage. My wife and I have been happily married for several years, and I firmly believe that any loving couple should have the same right. I certainly don't feel threatened by a couple just because they don't fit what people think a typical couple should be. So, good for Ontario. Its only those who aren't comfortable with their own roles who are determined to force those roles on others. |

How wonderful. Personally I don't and never did 'believe' in marriage. After all it's only a contract. I think it's also a hold over from religion. If a couple wants to make their own contract as to who gets what (if they split or after death), that should be between them NOT the government (who once again has a way to make money off of everything in the world that it can). I 'don't get' the idea of why people, a couple, has to have a formal ceremony or arrangement to live together. But having said that, if gays feel the victory of that ruling I too wish other countries and US states will follow that pattern. |

...and what's the connection between GI benefits and same sex marriage? And why should "they" leave "here" and move to Canada?

I would guess Slater has homoerotic thoughts and feelings, seeing as s/he is awfully uncomfortable with their own sexuality |

Hmm. Not something that arouses any passion in me one way or another. But boy howdy!, does it have a neighbor of mine on the edge of terminal apoplexy. Of course, I've helped him a great deal. I've speculated that his asshole is so tight, it squeaks when he walks and that's why he's so afraid. He might get propositions and proposals of wedlock.
For a devout Baptist, he has a remarkable vocabulary. But fortunatly, a sense of humor to go with it.

I'm not the least bit phobic. I'm not afraid of them, only disgusted by their behavior. Though it is nice to know that I cannot express an opinion without name calling starting instantly. And you call yourselves "Skeptics." How many more cliches can you come up with? When did the definition of Liberal become "narrow minded/party line"? And why are you so threatened that you can't remain civil?

Slater: I'm skeptical of your heterosexuality anyway. Besides, the fact that anyone might disgust you doesn't mean there's a problem with 'them'. Perhaps you're the one who should pack up and head elsewhere; like travel back to Nazi Germany? In case you hadn't noticed, homosexuals are human too, and deserve the same rights as everyone else. We can't very well expect to reach an egalitarian society when assholes like you wonder around disgusted by something that is different.

Slater: I'm skeptical of your heterosexuality anyway. You can have it one way or the other. Either you can declare that there is nothing wrong with being gay. Or you can do what you are doing and use calling people gay as an insult. Besides, the fact that anyone might disgust you doesn't mean there's a problem with 'them'. No, their deviant behavior is what shows their mental problems. Perhaps you're the one who should pack up and head elsewhere; like travel back to Nazi Germany? Nay, nay a boo boo. You poor poor baby, the mean man disagreed with you--let's throw him to the Nazis for not following your party line. That gives you away pretty quickly doesn't it, mein herr? In case you hadn't noticed, homosexuals are human too, and deserve the same rights as everyone else. They deserve the right to good psychiatric care. We can't very well expect to reach an egalitarian society when assholes like you wonder around disgusted by something that is different. We can't expect a society at all with poor delusionals wandering around who can't tell the difference between a man's digestive track and a woman's reproductive one. This carries the old joke about not knowing an ass from an "elbow" to the extreme. So can I take it from your egalitarian remark that you are a member of NAMBA then?

Obviously you have not been involved in the REAL world for quite some time. Homosexuality has long been scratched from the list of mental disorders. You can't just throw someone into a 'hospital for the mentally queer' and expect them to pop out being straight. Most scientists agree that it is most likely a biological/chemical condition during birth which affects sexual orientation. What would you suggest then, injections to cure people of this horrible infliction? Hate to say it, but it seems you're a minority in your views, thank God. I have not for some time heard of anyone so ignorant and old-fashioned as you are. If you actually spent two minutes looking at the world, you'd see that one in ten people is gay. Don't forget homosexuality in the animal kingdom; are animals retarded too? |

Cold you are off on this one. Slater expressed his opinion, you took offence to that, then you assumed a whole bunch of bullshit about Slater. That, I might add, you know absolutely nothing about.
What I can't stand is the PC bullshit that goes along with this topic. "Here comes the MTV generation......don't want to offend anyone......go do what ever the hell you want."-just a bunch of sheep.
