Perhaps then, it's the way teachers or the corses are taught. They should have students do more book reports, read biographies so students learn more completely. Taking a segment of history out and teaching it separtly is also 'leaving out'. I would hope that in colleges choosing a history class that encompasses everything 1st is a prerequsit to individual history. |

And don't bother telling anyone that the way they live, be it a choice or otherwise, is wrong if they are living a healthy and happy life.

Well, Bush finally got off his fense post, and took a position on gay marriage. quote: ...I believe in the sanctity of marriage. I believe a marriage is between a man and a woman. And I think we ought to codify that one way or another. And we've got lawyers looking at the best way to do that."
Okay, no problem. I figured he would have to eventually come out with the opinion that his core supporters wanted to hear, but when I heard he said this line in a press conference yesterday, I realized once more time that this guy hasn't got a clue. I mean, just how many lawyers does someone need to make a federal law that already exists? No wonder we're broke! See Defense of Marriage Act of 5/96 http://www.lectlaw.com/files/leg23.htm

Well, while the DoMA defines marriage for Federal purposes, the DoMA doesn't forbid same-sex marriages, it just says that Acts of Congress which apply to married couples won't apply to them (can't file Federal taxes with married status, for example), and that, say, Virginia doesn't have to recognize a legal same-sex marriage in New Hampshire as a marriage (if the couple were to move). I think Bush is looking for something stronger, like a Federal law (or amendment, forcryingoutloud) which completely bans same-sex marriages, trumping state and local law completely.
I really liked his "we're all sinners" line with the later "clarification" from the White House that Bush didn't mean to imply that homosexuality is a sin.

"Homosexual", "hetrosexual", "bisexual": All either a matter of choice-of-behaviour or some sort of genetic pre-disposition; but what about that part of the population which is born with BOTH genders?
I used to think that these folk were a miniscule percentage----maybe one in 10,000----but it seems that the true percentage is in the teens (---IIRC, something like 17% of births have mixed gender-characteristics---) and that the baby-doctors just DECIDED and, according to what seemed to be most surgically convenient, did the needed "cosmetic surgury" to make the baby seem to be either a boy or a girl. (GASP!! Could this REALLY describe "Born in the U.S.A."--- a place founded on individual LIBERTY???)
What about THESE people? "Cosmetic surgury" changes nothing. What are they? Homosexual? Hetrosexual? Bisexual? And why, after nearly 3 pages, has no one even mentioned them?
(Ahem. Was that a rant? )
I watched a film on this very subject in my physical anthropology class last Spring. It appears that the surgeons often choose poorly many times choosing the wrong "gender" and in quite a few cases it appears that the individual wasn't neither male nor female but a different gender all together. Many of the people studied in this film went on to have terrible lifes because of their chosen gender.
Also it appears that the surgery can destroy the sexual sensitivity of that individual especially for females making sex anything but enjoyable. In fact the clitoris often enlarges and appears as a penis in many cases and doctor's simply chop it off. In fact one of the arrogant bastard doctors on the movie who swore up and down he was doing the right thing said it was easier chopping of a pole then sewing up a hole or something like that.
In the majority of these cases the individual ended up being gay or just not interested in sex at all and often described themselves as having very disfunctional social relations.
The reasons for these are quite varied ranging from genetic to biochemical during development. |

I'm VERY skeptical to those numbers! 17% ??? If that really was the case, it should be easy to find documentation about it. Until you can provide some reliable litterature or links on those numbers, I'm going to file it under urban legends.
I did however find a Swedish paper in a medicine journal saying that a certain hormone deficiency in female fetuses can produce male-looking outer organs, which can make it very hard to see it it's a boy or a girl, or all-of-the-above. However, the ratio is about 1 out of 11000 (as stated in the medical journal). |

HOMOSEUXAL IS A CHOICE!!!! Why? Let me tell you, can a man and a man or woman and woman have babies? NO!!
Why would nature put in our genes something that would be racial suicidal? Do we see homosexuality in animals that have females and males? NO! So it's NOT natural!!!!! Why in the world nature make us like our own genders? So homosexuals or bisexuals are nothing but twisted minded sick people who try and change the true facts to 'justify' their acts. That is phyiscal proof!
now for religon. People say 'God made me that way!' Well where in the bible can you find God saying Homosexuality is ok?????? You can ask me all right I go to a Christian School and have read the bible. Gay people once again twist facts on verses so they can be seen as 'normal'.
We've got to put a stop in gay people promoting themselves. They only want to be able to adopt children for their own self-esteem to look 'normal' as heterosexuals. It is proven that children raised with gay families have more physiological damange then children with both a father and mother. What's more study also reveals that many gay relationships are VERY short lived and gay people actually die way faster from unhealthy relationships. If homosexualities where allowed, think of all the dangerous diseases that would spread faster like HIV etc...., why do you think the gay population has the most deadly diseases compared to heterosexuals??
Another thing, Gay people stop saying people who hate you are 'homophobic', HATE and FEAR are two very different things. The only reason you say that is cause you can't come up with something better to say. |

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.
