Can I also recommend if anyone wants to look at the bible but doesn't want to learn all the bad transliterations or read Hebrew they visit the Brick Testament (http://www.thereverend.com/brick_testament/) its Lego, but its inerrant what could anyone want more of! Oh and it might start a whole new porn industry on the web, which may or may not be a good thing.

Anyway, back on track the incest in the bible doesn't just stop at Adam and Eve, as someone has said, later on two ladies get old wossisname (read Lot) sozzled and give him the ride of his life. How though do they explain him being godly if he wants his daughters raped by Sodomites and then ends up portioning them himself?. The bible certain smacks of favoritism.

Consider that Solomon, David and Abraham (amongst others) had multiple wives when got had partially prohibited polygamy (*quality link about sex in the bible http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/sex/long.htm)

Ahh, Lego! I knew Lego had an inherent link to the divine...

Yes, the Brick Testament, the Lego illustrated Bible is a classic. I makes reading the Bible fun again.

Correct me if wrong (I spend the mandatory 1 hour per decade on Bible Study so as not to fall "behind the times") wasn't King Soloman dying, and they had a hot young babe jump on top of him to kinda firem' up and keep him going? Not exactly "family values" Robertson or Falwell would approve of (well, unless that form of therapy was suggested for them, I imagine.)

RE reverend.com /brick
Wow, I see the light. Maybe bible-pounding has it's advantages.

Ron:

The Old Testament doesn't really count - at least that is what I hear from christians when I point out the almost infinite number of problems present in that part of the book. Or, it doesn't count until they need to use it, then it counts again. Or only parts of it count, other parts don't. Whatever.

Rape, pillage, murder and Lego a great combination all round 's what I say!

I always think its amusing when people quote the bible as inerrant and then argue away things that God has said the opposite to many times (like the one about creating evil) by saying "you took it out of context" or "it isn't in my bible" or "its because of the translation errors".

For example, I was reading some website about a prophet of some sort and the pastor said "well the bible says to be a prophet by Gods starndard you have to have 100% success with predications (think it was about E. Cayce). Err, hello... Jesus predicted his return BEFORE the apostles were dead. Not seen that proof in any bible, oh sorry, I took it out of context and its in your bible? Ok no problem, my mistake.

I don't recall these verses. Perhaps because of Morton's Demon that possessed me at the time I was more frequent bible-reader than I am now.
Can you please provide what chapters and verses you read this?
