No Slater they wouldn't let me go, CMC said no women would deploy to SWA - though I was slated to go to Turkey for DD90. Same reason they wouldn't let me study Arabic when I applied to DLI, tho I did want Russian anyway.

Truely Marvin can speak for himself, and I shouldn't butt in (pun intended) considering that I don't agree with the basic premise of the article he quotes. I think that fucking grade school boys in the ass is a symptom of mental illness and not the cause.
But...since these bastards have seen fit to murder thousands of our people because of their "ethno-centric" view that it is sinful that these women in the WTC can read and write and--lets just say it and get it over with--have white skin, I think that we can cut the act.

Interesting theory. I have heard that they did it for reasons relating to our policy on Israel and having bases in Saudi Arabia and generally supporting evil dictatorships around the world while we slept snug in our beds. Where did you hear this?

What gives you the right to make the judgement that marvin does not have the right to make an ethical judgement about ‘boy-rape'?
You are judging me.
What gives you the right to judge me?
If I cannot judge ethical behavior, why can you judge my judgement of ethical behavior?

No, but it is only, so-called Western Thought, that has so Demonized, even Routine Sexual Practices, that anything, even remotely different, is Vilified as Unethical, and even, horrors, Wrong!
Moreover, I think that you'll find that in most Middle Eastern Cultures, your so-called, Boy-Rape, is little more than 20-something Men, having sex with 16 year old Boys. Activity that we would think nothing, or very little of, were the 16 year old Female.

This so-called "boy-rape" is considered wrong because of the supposed consequences to the boys afterward, correct?
What if in certain societies, it was normal and accepted (i.e. Ancient Greece), and there weren't any detrimental psychological effects? Is it still immoral?
(Not making a claim that this is the case, just asking an hypothetical...)

Without the shame our culture showers on such relationships and if it was totally accepted by all there is a good chance it would be harmful in no way and might possibly be positive.
If it's moral or not, as always, just depends on who you ask. What's the definition of "boy" here anyway? This varies widely from culture to culture and from what I have seen the American culture is at the far extreme in the definition of this and is not in step with the vast majority of the world's population.

I think the more important question here, rather than the gender of the 'recipient', is the question of whether we're really talking about rape.
I'd be hard pressed to imagine circumstances in which rape would *not* be injurious and immoral.
If we're just talking about sex...then perhaps there could be 'no harm done' I guess. |

By the accepted definition, yes. I just got the impression that marvin was referring to any sex, consensual or not, with a boy under 16, as "boy-rape".

Hmm, how to put this. The only thing I'm saying is he's making a judgement based on his views. Right or wrong - I don't know.
It's not a high moral position (at least I don't think so. Then again I may be wrong.) Slater, as for NYC and what happened - its a fucking nightmare - no getting around it. If anywhere else, I've even suggested somehow that what happened is not a tragedy of unimaginable propensity, I can only say that I apologize - not that it means much. The only thing I can say about my emotional state is that I've had to shut down emotionally and I haven't cried or felt much since it happened - there are also things that are going on in my personal life that if I let my emotions gain control right now or attempt to poke at my emotions I'd become a fucking screaming lunatic trying to pull her hair from her head.
In addition, (since I'm adding this - since this post has dredged this up), the last time I felt this small and lost, every day I came home from school I would pull a knife from the drawer in the kitchen and climb into the bathtub (it would be over two hours before anyone came home) and contemplate slitting my arms from the elbow to the wrist. Then I'd think about my mom having to clean up the mess and I'd climb back out of the tub and go put the knife back back in the drawer. Then I'd go sit in my room and try forgetting that I existed. Damn you Slater for sending me down this road.

If you think you're being judged by me - that's not my point or what I was attempting. It's not a justification of what they are doing either. Hell, I don't know what it is - it's their fucking culture whether I agree or not.
Additionally, I should be the last person to judge another - I've yet to judge myself.
