After doing a bit of research into this matter it has occurred to me that much of the confusion found in this thread can be explained by reading the following article...

The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

Much of the article seems to have some bearing on this thread, but of specific relevance, within the article we learn that The Third (and Golden) Basic Law is...
quote:
A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
For more in-depth enlightenment you might wish to particularly note the section entitled The Power of Stupidity, which can be found under The Third Law.

Pftttt! I'm from the rural deep south and I've been told that I have a 0.7 second delay beteeen words -- even longer when I type them!

This whole thing was fun for a while, but now it's getting merely silly and a bit tedious. Start a new topic, bigbrain; cuz we've 'bout worn this one out. Do you have any unscrambled thoughts on, oh, I dunno, say, Xena and her shapely sidekick, Gabriell? Are they really there, or are the telescope geeks conspiring to have wishfull, erotic dreams again?

I was wondering when you were gonna hang up on BB filthy. You sure had yer fun with him. I kinda felt like trying to tell him anything was like trying to push over a stump but with some stumps you either need to use dynmite or just leave it be.

Actually, I rather think he has hung, or is hanging, up on us. His rantings have gotten pretty sparse over the last, few days.

Ah well; for typing practice and hunting references, he was was an inspiration, otherwise something of a disappointment. He never gave anyone an excuse to really cut loose on him.

But my rifle is finished and the bison powder horn is almost so.

If you still think this orrible spacecraft

as a brake, controlled by a computer of 4k RAM,

you are big idiots without hope
and I think it's useless I continue to talk with you.

I'm very sorry for you because your life will never be illuminated by truth and reason.

Ah jeeze, such a loss. No more technicolor posts in magnificent Cinarama...

Where have we seen this sort of kiss-off before?

bigbrain, if you had come here to discuss, the reaction to you would have been a lot different. Instead, you came to shout and be mildly obnoxious. And like most trolls, you participated in no thread but your own, commented upon no topic save this one. The loss is yours.

Buh-by...

I have a spud gun, but I haven't fired it in a long time. What is it about high velocity produce that is so hilarious? That thing cracks everybody watching up, and, as stated, the 'boom' is most satisfying.

Next time my grandanarchists come by, I'll have to break that sucker out and fling some 'taters.

I don't know, I found that last bit fairly illuminating. It positively brightened up my day.

I came across this quote today and it made me think of bigbrain:

Perhaps someone should make some nice illustrations that shows that his coke-can-balancing-act isn't compareable to a moonlander-thruster (or any other rocket thuster). Not for the benefit of Bigbrain, but for innocent bystanders.
But I have to admit bigbrain is beyond redemption.

I agree with bigbrain. I am a helicopter pilot.
A rocket can't land going backwards.
It can't use its rocket engine as a brake, it would wag its top and it would become uncontrollable.

So, breakballs, are you agreeing with bigbrain that balancing a coke-can on your index-finger is equivalent to a rocket or a moonlander balancing on it's rocket engine?

I'm sorry, but with a post like this the only possible conclusion is that you are joking or that you are stupid.

Break down:
I agree with bigbrain. -- Possible, but that would be stupid.

I am a helicopter pilot. -- Possible, but in the light of your other claims my guess is that this is false.

It can't use its rocket engine as a brake -- False

it would wag its top -- Some truth here. It is an unstable system in need of control. That's why the lm had control thrusters.

it would become uncontrollable -- Please tell me, why! Bigbrain seems to be unable to do this. Where does the the problem lie? Sensors? Thrusters? Control algorithms?
Let's see some numbers!
