Lisa and Trish: I can see that a lot of discussion has gone on on both boards in the last couple of days. I've been busy with work and other activities, so I didn't get a chance to check here or the BA board until this morning.

I've noticed the ribbing that we're getting from Rift about posting . I never had a problem with a link; I did have problems with an embedded picture, but finally figured that out earlier this week.

By the way, my nails are short and I can "system engineer" a launch vehicle or spacecraft, so I guess I'm not too "blonde".

I'll check in tonight and see what's going on.

rubysue (who can post links AND pictures on the BA board)

Hey, the ribbing was just good clean fun, hope I didn't offend you. Notice the problems I've been having posting... :)

Besides, it keeps me from going off on the new morons we've seem to have picked up over there. That one guy who thinks Nasa-naza-nazi was a good joke, The other who thinks Art Bell is NOT a nut, and now it appears the hoagland worshippers are multiplying. ACK.

BTW I AM posting @tomic's "artwork" over on the BA board, lol.

Thanks guys! That one is a classic!
BTW, there's a new person posting over on BA. Her name is Megan and she's 14 years old. Her Dad and Stepmom are great, but her Mom is a new-age psychic froot-loop. Had Megan do the re-birthing thing, thinks she can cure a sprained ankle by waving her hands over it, you know the type. At 14, she's sort of at a crossroad. She's a pretty level-headed kid, and I think she wants to go in the direction of science and reason, but her mother still has considerable influence. All I'm asking: go easy on her. She has a pretty fragile ego, and I don't want her scared off. Okay?
I'm posting this here, because I made her promise to never come here without her stepmom previewing the material first.
Thanks,
Lisa

Well you better say that if you continue calling her mom a new age psychic fruit loop :P

As far as calling her mom anything, I believe she came up with the phrase first. Along with "out-there", "nut-case", and "loopy". I was just afraid if the guys on BA razzed her too much, she'd flee. She's young and looking for answers, and if she gets scared off, who knows where she'll turn.
Atomic: gee thanks! Beer just came out of my nose, and now I have to clean the monitor screen and keyboard. How do you do that stuff anyway? I might have to replace my screen wallpaper with that. You must have seen the part of their literature that mentions going through book/magazines with a black magic marker. What city was it that had to put a loincloth on a replica of the statue "David"?

Photoshop is a wonderful thing. You can doctor images with relative ease. Since I have been workng on websites a long time, i have built up a collection of such obvious images. I suppose I should add something to the FAQ about exactly how to put images in forum posts and the profiles. The profile pics are especially tricky and MUST be uploaded to this forum.

Trish, this refers to a page two topic. Would you believe my husband is giving me grief about that star party I told you about? He thinks I'm going over to some stranger's house for some sort of nebulous (pun intended) party. This club is associated with the South Dakota School of Mine. I sent him their link, so maybe he'll start breathing normally. When I started getting intrested in Astronomy, this was not a hurdle I expected to cross!

Been running all day, trying to get my MVR so I can drive tow trucks, LOL. Can't be much different than driving six-bys.

Lisa, that's just men I think. My ex (read: sperm donor) used to get on me about dets. Like I had any control. Just get him interested in astronomy too! It's dark, stars...get the pict?

Come to think on it, JCrowell started the whole religion thing that I jumped in with both feet on. Yeesh!

Nah, didn't bother me a bit (quite amusing actually). I struggled mightily with those stupid pictures until I finally "got it" based on inputs from Hub and Karl.

Question to this group who also surfs the BA board: What is Hub? Is it true that Hub is an AI program that responds to posts with some sort of input that seems like gibberish but actually has some "thought" behind it? Or is Hub someone off their meds?

By the way, the "Cydonia face of Jesus" is pure genius!

Oh dear, I think I went and got spastic over on the BA board. I definitely crossed over the "flame" barrier.

Stupid mars face morons drive me more crazy then HBers. "lets travel billions of light years and go carve this mountain to look like a bad Elvis impersonator"

Hub'? lol, He's been around as long as I can remember. I first found the BA board about 3 years ago. It was inundated with geocentrists, believe it or not. Then came JW and the anti-relativity crowd, then the hoax nonsense, what fun. But Hub' has been the one constant throughout. lol.

Tell you the truth, I don't even read his posts anymore, and Computer Org is starting to sound a whole lot like Hub'. lol

Lisa: We'll take care of Megan as best as we can. But it's a good thing that she has someone as level-headed as you to take her under her wing.

As far as Hub is concerned, I've been trying to figure him/her/it out for as long as I've been lurking on the BA board...no luck yet
