I'm tempted to become the Reverend Filthy of the Church of the Dessicsted Cockroach (we believe that the afterlife is spent in a Paradise in the cupboard under the sink).

I am the Rev. David V. Finn of the ULC. Have been for years. Yes it is real, as far as I've been able to tell, however it mostly exists as a bad tax dodge. People trying to exploit it as such usually find that the Government is not amused. However if you're like me and just get a kick out of these things, by all means get yourself ordained. I've had lots of fun with it myself. Just don't go around trying to marry people without checking your local and state laws.
Um... Is that my beer? |

I became a minister in 1979, when Bishop Hensley was on the old Tomorrow Show. He said that anyone who wrote in would be ordained for free, so I got in on it. I married a couple of friends of mine, but haven't done much else with it.
If you need spiritual guidance from someone who doesn't believe in spiritual guidance, I'm available. Just write revgorgo@bright.net

Very well, 'tis done!
I am now the Most Reverend and Pious Filthy of the High Church of the Desiccated Cockroach. Please don't try to attend services; when the church doors open, we all scurry away. It interrupts the sermon and causes confusion during collections.
You may, however, send money.

Hey Rev! Nice to meet you. You may call me Rev. Lisa. What the heck. It's a snowy gray boring day. Beats doing laundry. Lisa

Yup, I'm also a priest with the ULC. I was ordained in 1992 as part of a Neo-Pagan group using ULC to get ministry documents. That ordination has since expired (as well as the temple). Not all usages of ULC are invalid. Although their "we'll ordain anybody, anytime for $35" idea tends to erode the "sanctity" of the ordination.

Thanks for the link TD. You are now addressing the "High Priestess of Hops." If it keeps snowing at this rate, I may have to hold a Mass. Lisa

Lisa, you have snow?!?!
Where? How much? And can you send some this way? We just had regular rain today. I know. I was out in it. No freezing rain; regular, spring-time rain.

James, it snowed on and off all day yesterday. Not enough accumulation to get excited about, just enough that I was glad we were no longer on the road. It's supposed to get pretty messy on Friday and Saturday, so I'd better hit the store soon. Don't want to get stuck here without the ingredients for a High Mass. Lisa High Priestess of Hops

I have quite a bit of snow here, too. Give you a deal: you can have as much of it as you want, but you have to take it yourself. Start with my driveway, eh?

Sorry, Boron, but the day after I wrote that post, we got snow. Granted, not much, but 'tis better than nothing. Althought, I wish this cold would go away until next winter...
