Nevada are indeed probably shinier... We need an assistantship for a sociology Master student to know for certain.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Well, I know brothels are legal in most of Nevada, so we'd expect them to be shinier. I don't think they're legal in NO. Strip clubs, sure. But I don't think so for brothels....

Plus... Nevada likes its sparkly tackiness (that's what I was going for)!

I hate what CNN is doing.

Right now, Wisconsin has 0% (zero percent) of the vote counted, but CNN is calling the state for Obama.

And in Virginia, with 59% of the vote counted and McCain in the lead with 51%, CNN refuses to call it for him (or for Obama).

There's just so much behind-the-scenes nonsense going on that doesn't make it to the TV screen that it feels like bizarro-world.

It's shaping up to be a landslide for Obama, even more so for Democratic candidates.

My read is that, even if Obama wins all his likely states westward to Nevada, it will take at least one Pacific coast state to win it for our new President. Hope it's mine.

Guy on CNN just ran a scenario where Obama loses every state that they haven't yet called for him, except for Hawaii, California, Oregon and Washington. That got McCain to 266 electoral votes, so even if he wins everything that it's reasonable to think he's got a slim possibility of winning, he loses.

Except that CNN just called New Mexico for Obama, so that means a perfect run for McCain will result in 261 EV.

Right. I turned the sign on just so people would know that there are people chatting about the election.

So isn't this a combination of pre-voting polls and exit polls? I mean, in a place like Oklahoma (my home state), where polls recently showed McCain winning by something like 65-35, I figure that the minute after the elections close-- assuming exit polls mirror the other polls, you can just call the state.

But in places like VA, where the polls are all in the margin of error, you need to keep counting to get a better picture.

Or something like that...

Woot! So my home state of Ohio and my current state of New York both came up for Obama, and my previous home base of Virginia is still a toss up. Unbelievable!

Or is it? I think one amazing psychic had this confidently called as far back as last January.
