Hey, your "Astronaut Cleaning Up Kitty Poo" is now my screen wallpaper! Shows the best way to deal with the HG Trolls is with humour. We haven't covered ourselves with glory trying to use logic or critical arguments, now have we? If ya can't win, laugh. Sure beats pounding forehead on keyboard.

Okay, who got me started reading Hoagland's board??? ::shivers and then smashes head in keyboard::

Even the more lucid posters make our trolls look like geniuses.

Which brings up the next subject. Lisa and Trish, as for what do we do if Piper or JW or someone shows up here? I dunno. I hope they won't. The whole reason we started doing this is so we could talk behind their backs :)

Well, occasionally it's fun to slam someone to their face.

Re: Reply to JW about scientists

Ok, I'll get back to you about this. I haven't read your whole post yet, but I will, and I'll copy some actual quotes and post them.
This oughta be good...I shall wait with baited breath.

In the mean time, I'm trying to educate Sean about relative motion.Translation: I will continue to prove that "I don't understand it" means the same thing as "It must be wrong".

JW pounced on the michelson-morely thread too, he is soooo predictable.

I would respond to him, but I REALLY don't want to get in an argument with the old goat.

*sigh* more piper idiocy. Whenever I see that name my fingers start itching....... and I want to post something deeply sarcastic even though it is SO totally lost on him.

I'm venting.

He claims to have done something useful previously! look!

"Before I discovered for myself that the Apollo missions were faked, I debated against limitations put on individual liberty, and for civil rights, and the Constitution in general. I ran into just as many bone heads then, as I do now trying to get the truth out about the faked Apollo missions. Even though you are a different group of people, you still share one thing in common. You want to control the way people think. You don't want them to seek the truth for themselves, you want them to take your word for it."

Why do I have the feeling he'd have hurt the cause more than helped?

I'm going to try to ignore this psycho for now. It's interesting that he is now accusing us of trying to control people minds, when his control freak tendencies have been transparently obvious from his first post.

Ooooooo. We got mind control powers now? Cool. I gotta try that out. Maybe someone will off my ex-wife.

I already responded to this loser (Piper). I referenced someone who took pictures of models which disproved non-parallel shadows. Geez, I can't think of who did it, but it was really a simple way of proving the point. Something in the back of my mind says it was Code Red, but I could be wrong.

I tried to use mine on Piper. In conformity with the principles of sympathetic fetishism, I stared real hard at a Jim Beam bottle. It didn't work, possibly because he doesn't have a mind, but I will try again later with other brands.

No wonder you can't remember, there have been so many!

I wonder if G.E. can give us a world without Pipers. Happy thought?

Piper's back? Did I miss it? There's no new threads of his....

Here it is, Rifteroo, in all its glory (in response to a question from Conrad regarding what HBers did for kicks before Apollo) ===>http://www.badastronomy.com/wwwboard/messages/11288.html

How the heck did I miss that, lol.

I think my brain blocks out the word "Piper" now. :)

I went to his "mini-anomolies" site. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. I seriously hope he's putting us all on and doesn't really believe this stuff.

I managed to miss it last night too. Why did he have to mess up a perfectly good thread. I realize it wasn't about Astronomy per se, but I was enjoying it.
I've just about quit reading his posts. In a moment of weakness, I actually checked out his anomolies site. So the guy sees shapes in rocks, good for him. I do however, read some of the responses to Piper, especially if penned by any of the usual suspects. (You know who you are) Whether the responses are aliens, sentient vegetables, or doctored photos better than anything Piper could manage, at least I know I'll be entertained.
BTW, Ed finally capitulated and bought a telescope! It's supposed to be an early xmas present, and maybe by then he'll get his paws off of it long enough for me to play with it.

Yes, it is hilarious, isn't it? How in the world can anyone get so much mileage out of the equivalent of finding cloud animals? Poor boy needs another hobby.

Congrats to both of you for the new member of the family! Hope you get lots of use out of it!
