Congratulations. You have mastered #11.
Actually, until proving that I have done all of number 11, why did you even type it down...it isn't true. You make a claim without no evidence listed to back it up(tsk, tsk, you hypocrital scientist follower).
You should read some of those yourself*hint*hint* Congratulations....
Does this mean we can't be friends either?

And I never have wondered why I had to abandon the mental gymnastics required of apologetics.
Spawn, for an introductory course in logic may I suggest picking up Understanding Symbolic Logic by Virginia Klenk. It might help.

This demonstrates the fact that you cannot argue belief with logic. Logic doesn't apply to belief, which as been aptly demonstrated on this thread. I find it funny to watch, but really nothing gets accomplished other than some entertaining squirming to make the believing seem logical.
Entropy just isn't what it used to be. |

You can't really blame him for squirming. This thread was about a fellow who wrote a web article because he couldn't reconcile a loving god with eternal damnation. Spawn, a christian replied with this Do you see what Jesus was asked? Essentially, it was "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Jesus' response was that they are asking the wrong question. The proper question is "Why do good things happen to bad people?" Since we are all sinners, the bad things happening to these people could just as easily happen to us. Therefore, Jesus tells us to repent or we, too, will perish.
Now let's put that question in eternal perspective, and look at the question of this thread: "How can a loving God send people to Hell?"
Knowing what Jesus taught, we can see that the real question should be turned around to "How can a just God allow people into Heaven?"
Then when the topic moved to the unfairness of the treatment of Adam & Eve he felt compelled to defend god's seemly monstrous actions.
The problem is that all of this logic would have Spawn ending up in heaven, BUT--in a direct corollary with the Genesis story and the "How can a just God allow people into Heaven?"piece--Spawn's poor brother is innocently damned to hell for eternity. Imagine how you would feel if you were saddled with a superstition as horrible as that. Squirming and twisting logic are understandable it this case. Now if he were an Atheist this would be a non-issue. The Roman Catholics have doctrine that covers this nicely. Even the Mormons have a humane out. But Fundamentalist Christianity has deemed these all to be apocryphal. Thru no fault of his own the kid is damned to the fires that burn but consume not for ever and ever. While Spawn will be in heaven enjoying himself. Yet he can't ask why bad things (as bad as it gets in this case) happen to good people because all men (including the brother, though I don't see how) are sinners and "if any man says he does not sin HE LIES."

Thanks for pointing out the obvious...

Thanks for typing up one of my responses Maybe you should read the link that one of the other guys gave concerning Creationist arguments or something like that.

Thanks for that opinion....

I see nothing in your quote which states how he will be damned to hell for eternity. You quoted me to have said, "How can a just God allow people into Heaven"....how does that prove in any way that my brother will be damned to hell? Also, I asked earlier about what kind of "sickness" or "illness" you were talking about, yet you didn't reply to it. Please respond to that one question, at least.... My brother may be in a situation where he doesn't understand things well(if at all), but he talks to me all the time about God. I believe he will be in heaven...he has turned a lot of people towards Christ just because of his courage, faith, and strength.
quote: Imagine how you would feel if you were saddled with a superstition as horrible as that.

You still fail to tell me how....

First off, keep my brother out of your posts...who are you to judge someone according to a religion which you don't even believe in?lol As for the post in general: Yes, every man and woman has sinned before according to my belief. point?

Thanks for typing up one of my responses No typing involved. You just highlite, copy and paste Maybe you should read the link that one of the other guys gave concerning Creationist arguments or something like that. Read it but didn't dare mention it for fear of your demanding that I stay on topic again.
I see nothing in your quote which states how he will be damned to hell for eternity. I sawnothing in your bible that said he could possibly go to heaven. how does that prove in any way that my brother will be damned to hell? He's not. No one is. Hell is a myth. Also, I asked earlier about what kind of "sickness" or "illness" you were talking about, yet you didn't reply to it. Please respond to that one question, at least.... My response is --- you were talking to LordofEntropy not me. I'm the tall one with the beard, he's the good looking one. My brother may be in a situation where he doesn't understand things well(if at all), but he talks to me all the time about God. To show you that I'm not as nasty as you think I'll skip the obvious joke here.
You still fail to tell me how.... You've been told how every time you have done it, by numerous people, but you seem not to be capable of understanding what they are saying.
First off, keep my brother out of your posts...who are you to judge someone according to a religion which you don't even believe in? First off if you have a subject that you consider taboo then don't bring it the hell up in a forum. I didn't know you had a brother or that he had problems until you brought him up. As for the post in general: Yes, every man and woman has sinned before according to my belief. point? Look Spawn it's your fairytale with your rules. When you started your rules said everyone deserved to go to hell and only the good graces of Jesus would prevent them from doing so. Now you're changing the rules. That's okay with me, I think they are a lot of baloney anyway. But it doesn't make sense to come on a Skeptic board to proclaim something and not keep your story consistent from one post to the next.

No typing involved, huh?
quote: I sawnothing in your bible that said he could possibly go to heaven.
Then why even type something like that when we both have different opinions on it(which neither have proof). Why type it?
quote: He's not. No one is. Hell is a myth.
Then why did you type that? You're contradicting yourself.
quote: To show you that I'm not as nasty as you think I'll skip the obvious joke here.
Thanks

Please point out where...thanks

Thanks for that pointless reply....another immature one.

Once again...point out how?

Thanks for pointing that out...

Also, I wouldn't have confused you with someone else, but you continue to quote me saying things which, of course, I'm going to be thinking that it was you who typed that post I was replying to.

Maybe the Jesus Fan Clubs has a different definition of "love".

LOL! This is one of my favorites. What I like about it is that he is using it as a curse. The "God still loves" phrase comes across sounding just like "F."

Well I am certainly incapable of refuting this sort of ironclad logic without resorting to immaturity. Why does your profile say student? It appears that between your invisible sky friend and the magic book you would possess the sum of all knowledge. <false dichotomy> BTW: Why wouldn't you want to know the secret of cold fusion? Are you so dull you couldn't think of a way to help mankind with such a discovery, or are you unsure how you could keep such a thing for the true believers while denying it to the infidels? </false dichotomy> Did your mother have any children that lived?

Slater and Starman: Thanks for your kind words.

1. Why does my profile say student? I'll let you take your time on figuring out that answer.... 2. It appears that between your invisible sky friend and the magic book you would possess the sum of all knowledge. Once again, as I said to slater and the other guy...thanks for the kind words. 3. Well I am certainly incapable of refuting this sort of ironclad logic without resorting to immaturity.
Most of what you quoted is my asking for proof to why they type certain things about me. 4. Why wouldn't you want to know the secret of cold fusion? Why would I? 5. Did your mother have any children that lived? What does this have to do with anything? Is this more immaturity or as people here call it, logic?lol
